EHS Lead – Data Centre Project – Finland
A leading European contractor specialising in high-tech data centre construction across the Nordics is looking for a dedicated EHS Lead to oversee environmental, health, and safety management on a major hyperscale project in Finland.
This company is known for delivering technically demanding mission-critical infrastructure with an uncompromising focus on safety and compliance. This is a full-time, site-based leadership role ideal for a professional with proven experience in large-scale construction environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and enforce EHS policies and procedures aligned with Finnish regulations and client requirements.
Lead site-wide health and safety management, including risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits.
Conduct regular site inspections and toolbox talks to promote a proactive safety culture.
Manage incident reporting, investigation, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams to ensure consistent adherence to safety standards.
Deliver EHS training and awareness sessions tailored to site-specific risks.
Monitor environmental compliance including waste management, emissions, and resource usage.
Support project leadership in maintaining a zero-incident culture and achieving safety targets.
Candidate Profile:
Relevant EHS qualifications or certifications (NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an EHS leadership role on large construction or industrial projects, ideally in data centres or mission-critical environments.
Strong knowledge of Finnish and EU health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Proven ability to lead and influence multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
Excellent communication and training skills.
Fluent in English; Nordic language skills are an advantage.
Willingness to be based in or relocate to Finland – accommodation and travel support offered.
