EHS Lead – Data Centre Project – Finland

A leading European contractor specialising in high-tech data centre construction across the Nordics is looking for a dedicated EHS Lead to oversee environmental, health, and safety management on a major hyperscale project in Finland.

This company is known for delivering technically demanding mission-critical infrastructure with an uncompromising focus on safety and compliance. This is a full-time, site-based leadership role ideal for a professional with proven experience in large-scale construction environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and enforce EHS policies and procedures aligned with Finnish regulations and client requirements.
• Lead site-wide health and safety management, including risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits.
• Conduct regular site inspections and toolbox talks to promote a proactive safety culture.
• Manage incident reporting, investigation, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams to ensure consistent adherence to safety standards.
• Deliver EHS training and awareness sessions tailored to site-specific risks.
• Monitor environmental compliance including waste management, emissions, and resource usage.
• Support project leadership in maintaining a zero-incident culture and achieving safety targets.

Candidate Profile:

• Relevant EHS qualifications or certifications (NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an EHS leadership role on large construction or industrial projects, ideally in data centres or mission-critical environments.
• Strong knowledge of Finnish and EU health, safety, and environmental legislation.
• Proven ability to lead and influence multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
• Excellent communication and training skills.
• Fluent in English; Nordic language skills are an advantage.
• Willingness to be based in or relocate to Finland – accommodation and travel support offered.
